IOSONO for content producers

The advent of multitrack recording in the 60s wasn’t simply a technological advance that added convenience. It was a powerful creative tool – one that made the “White Album” possible.

expanding your creativity

Now, IOSONO® wave field synthesis technology is set to take recording to the next creative level by providing true spatial rendering capabilities. With the IOSONO Spatial Audio Workstation (SAW) plug-in for  Steinberg’s Nuendo 4, sounds can be positioned and moved anywhere in the listening space to create a fascinatingly immersive experience.

IOSONO-equipped recording studioThe workstation presents Nuendo tracks as selectable sound objects, up to 32 of which can be defined in the IOSONO mix. When played back through an IOSONO sound system, the listener can localize the objects at discrete positions within, or even outside of, the listening space.

Automated motion paths for each object means that Nigel Kennedy’s on-stage antics, for example, can be reproduced with stunning spatial realism: bringing the violin right up to the listener, or allowing it to wander around the room. The creative potential of IOSONO goes far beyond simple panning, reverb, and conventional multichannel mixing, and is equally suited to the production of music, movies, or themed environments.
